VOOP SPRINT (GBCS Internship UI/UX)
Role:
- Team UX Designers (team of 14 people)
- Team UI Researcher (team of 14 people)
Deliverables:
- RFP creation website
- Online collaborative website
Timeline: June - July 2023
Overview: VOOP Is an RFP (request for proposal) site that GBCS assigned to interns to make from the ground up. The site allows both general users and admins to collaborate together to submit RFP’s to different companies or government branches in an organized and easy to follow format.
Problem + Purpose:
The communication bridge between creators and companies
- RFP’s (request for proposal) are crucial documents for pitching ideas to companies, across a variety of fields. Many companies must use outdated sites to design and upload these RPF’s. Having no good way to create, edit and upload RFP’s proves to be a larger problem than most companies expect.
- VOOP solves this complicated RFP problem by making one website where users can create, edit and upload RFP’s as a team. With having both normal and admin user setting; teams are able to collaborate together to efficiently design RFP’s.
Research + Contributions:
Working together to produce the best results.
Much of our research was done as a group, centered around learning about the key factors off RFP’s and what separates a reliable one from the rest, we learned that we needed:
- Opportunity sampling was key, we needed to target a group of people who specialized in RFP creation to really understand what was needed in our website.
- How could this site collaborative? Editing and commenting while RFP’s were being designed was a critical feature we had to implement.
- Uploading and saving multiple RFP’s, the website had to have the ability to store more than one RFP and have the ability to create new RFP’s whenever teams needed.
- Admin privileges, having roles exclusive to admins was necessary when it comes down to organizing team RFP’s.
Reflections:
Leadership: Being completely in charge of the high fidelity designs for this project I learned how to express my own visions to a group and guide them to make those visions a reality.
Feedback: Through this project my team was always adjusting things to improve this website and its creation. Always asking for feedback from the clients was something we did on a regular basis and really helped my team create something that was perfect for the receiver.
